FABUI
Privacy policy
FABUI has no analytics, no trackers and no server of its own. What it collects stays in your browser.
Last updated October 26, 2026. This replaces the policy from April 9, 2020 on FABUI's Firefox Add-ons listing, and says the same things, brought up to date.
What FABUI reads
FABUI reads FurAffinity's pages while you're logged in, and only what the features you've switched on need:
- Notifications: your submission, comment, shout, journal, favorite, watcher and note notifications, and FA's counts of them, to show on the toolbar button and in the popup.
- Your account: your username and avatar, so it knows whose notifications it's checking.
- Uploads: your submission folders and the details you fill in, so it can upload for you.
- Filters: the artists you mute and the words you blacklist, so it can hide what you asked it to.
- Follows you: a profile's watcher list, to tell you whether that person watches you.
Where it's kept
In your browser's extension storage, and nowhere else. FABUI has no server. It doesn't send anything to me, to KenjiKuroneki or to anyone else, and nothing is sold or shared.
While an upload is in progress, FABUI keeps a copy of its details so a failed upload can be retried, and deletes it once the upload is done. You can export your settings from FABUI's options; what happens to that file is up to you.
Who it talks to
Only FurAffinity: furaffinity.net, and facdn.net, where FA serves its images. FABUI makes those requests as you, with your normal FA login.
To get past FurAffinity's Cloudflare check, FABUI adds the clearance cookie your browser already got from FA to its own requests. On Firefox with Multi-Account Containers, it sends only that container's FurAffinity cookies. Those cookies only ever go to FurAffinity.
Contact Developer
Contact Developer starts a FurAffinity note to me with your browser, its version and FABUI's version filled in, to help track down problems. Nothing is sent until you send that note yourself, and it goes through FurAffinity's own notes.
The stores
The Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons record installs and usage under Google's and Mozilla's own privacy policies. All I see are the totals they show developers.
Permissions
Every permission FABUI asks for, and why, is listed on the FABUI page.
Changes and questions
If any of this changes, the date at the top changes too, and the changelog says what changed. Questions go to a note on FurAffinity or hello@tewulf.com. For this website rather than the extension, see the site's privacy page.
